Installation

Claude Code

This adds the skill and the Far & Wide MCP server. Then log in once with your Far & Wide account: run /mcp in Claude Code, pick far-and-wide and choose Authenticate. There is no key to copy.

Other agents

npx skills add farandwide-io/skills --skill far-and-wide

Add -g to install it for every project. Then add the MCP server in your client as a remote HTTP server: https://app.farandwide.io/api/mcp.

Manual

Copy the skills/far-and-wide folder from github.com/farandwide-io/skills into your agent's skills folder (in Claude Code: ~/.claude/skills/far-and-wide/).

What your agent does, and what you do

Your agent, with your yes on each change

  • Connects to the Far & Wide MCP server and checks which brand it reaches.
  • Fills in your brand from your repository and website: description, facts and prices, competitors, the buyers you are measured for, AI platforms and buyer questions.
  • Reads your audits: visibility, competitors, open issues, search clicks and visits from AI apps.
  • Opens a fix, shows it to you, and applies it in your codebase or approves it.

You, in the Far & Wide portal

  • Create the account and choose a plan. MCP works on Monitor and Fix, trial included. Plans are on the pricing page.
  • Tick Let connected apps make changes on the MCP connect page. Without it, your agent can only read.
  • Connect your site. GitHub or your CMS lets us publish fixes after you approve them. The one-line script tag, or no connection, gives you fixes as example code to apply yourself.
  • Connect Google Search Console and Analytics, and start audits.
  • Confirm the brand facts your agent wrote, on the dashboard.

Common issues

  • «Invalid or expired credentials». Log in again, or make a new key on the MCP connect page. A new key replaces the old one.
  • «Requires a paid plan». MCP needs Monitor or Fix. A trial counts.
  • «Changes are switched off». The brand owner ticks Let connected apps make changes on the MCP connect page.
  • No new fixes after your agent edited the facts. Facts an agent writes wait for you: press Confirm all facts on the dashboard.
  • The tools don't show up. Restart your agent or reconnect the server.
