Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, as well as to provide information to the website owners.

We use very few. This is the complete picture of what runs on farandwide.io:

• Strictly necessary — your cookie choice itself. Nothing else on this website needs storage to work.
• Analytics — page-view and traffic measurement, and product analytics. All of it stays switched off until you allow it, except two cookie-free visit counts described in section 4.
• Marketing — we set none today. The option is in the banner because our tag manager can serve advertising tags, and if we ever switch one on it will be off until you allow it.

Strictly necessary storage cannot be switched off, because it is what remembers your decision.

• cookie_consent — your choice on this banner, stored in your browser's local storage. It stays until you clear your browser data or change your choice.
• fw_consent — the same choice in a small cookie shared by farandwide.io and app.farandwide.io, so you are not asked twice when you move from this website to the app. It holds only your yes or no for analytics and marketing, nothing else, and lasts one year or until you change your choice.

There is no checkout on this website, so no payment or fraud-prevention cookies are set here. Subscriptions are bought through our payment provider's own hosted page, which sets its own cookies under its own policy once you get there.

Analytics tell us which pages people read and where they arrived from. Three things are involved, and they behave differently:

• Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager. Consent Mode is set to deny analytics and advertising storage before anything loads, so no analytics cookie is written until you allow it.
• Product analytics (EU-hosted, including session recordings). Until you allow analytics it only counts each page you open, without cookies: nothing is stored on your device, no clicks or screen recordings are taken, and it can tell two page views apart from one visitor only within the same day, through a code our provider makes from your network address and browser type and replaces every day. Once you allow analytics it sets its cookie, shared by farandwide.io and app.farandwide.io, so a visit to this website and a later visit to the app count as the same visitor. Revoking your consent removes that cookie at once and takes it back to the cookie-free count. If you are signed in to our platform, it can associate the session with your account — so it is not anonymous, and we do not claim it is.
• A cookie-free page-view counter provided by our hosting platform. It sets no cookie, stores nothing on your device, and does not identify you or follow you between websites, so it runs whatever you choose here. Like the page count above, it does not wait for consent, and we would rather say so than describe all of our analytics as consent-gated when two of them are not.

We do not run advertising cookies on this website today, and no advertising tag is live in our tag manager. The choice stays in the banner so that the day we do, it starts switched off and only runs if you allow it.

Click 'Cookie Settings' in the website footer — or in the platform's account menu or footer — at any time to change or withdraw your choice; withdrawing is as easy as giving it. We keep a record of each choice (a random identifier, your choice and the date, and your account if you are signed in — no IP address) for 36 months, so we can show what you agreed to. Clearing your browser's site data for farandwide.io also erases the choice on your device, and the banner will ask you again. Your browser's own settings can block cookies and storage entirely; this website works without any of it.
